The problem
Schedule personal alerts with persistent state and keep an in-app notification when the external channel fails.
My contribution
I built the monorepo with AI assistance and reviewed its architecture, implementation and tests: frontend, API, worker and WhatsApp sender service.
Technical decisions
- Next.js and TypeScript for the interface and BFF; FastAPI with JWT, account verification and password recovery.
- PostgreSQL with SQLAlchemy and Alembic; a durable worker that claims due reminders and creates in-app notifications.
- A WhatsApp destination per user, with consent, an encrypted phone number and a central sender built with Baileys.
- CI and tests for the API, web app, worker and sender contract; deployment to Vercel, Render and Neon.
Scope and limitations
The public demo opens at sign-in and requires an account to view the dashboard. Real email and WhatsApp delivery have not been verified end to end in production; Web Push, recurring reminders and notes without a date are not implemented.
